FAQs

Fees

Find clear answers about Fees on stock.estate, including platform rules, investing flows, fees, and risks.

How much does Stock.estate earn?

Stock.estate’s remuneration depends on the campaign’s fee model. Progressive Interest campaigns have no investor platform fee: the annual interest rate in your signed agreement is your contractual rate before withholding. The borrower pays the platform’s applicable fees separately. Existing fixed campaigns retain the administration fee or commission stated in their own terms. Review the campaign and agreement for the fees that apply to your investment; do not apply one campaign’s fee model to your entire portfolio.

Do I have to pay tax on investment interest?

Interest earned from investments may be taxable. The applicable withholding depends on the relevant tax rules, including the project jurisdiction, your tax residence and investor type. There is no single rate or treatment that applies to every investor and campaign.

Review the “Withholding Tax on stock.estate” answer, your campaign terms and payment records for the deductions applied. You may also have reporting or payment obligations in your country of tax residence. Do not assume that platform fees are always deductible or that company investors are never subject to withholding.

Are there other commissions for transferring funds?

Funding costs depend on the payment method and the providers involved. Check any fee shown in your account before proceeding, as well as your bank’s or payment provider’s tariff.

SEPA, SWIFT, intermediary-bank and currency-conversion charges can differ. A platform fee of zero does not mean that your bank or another provider will make the transfer free of charge.

Are there fees/commissions when withdrawing funds from Stock.estate?

A withdrawal may carry a fee depending on the applicable withdrawal conditions. Before confirming, check the requested amount, any fee and the net amount to be sent to your bank. Only available withdrawable cash can be withdrawn; invested principal, bonus balances and Investment Credit are not directly withdrawable. Bank processing may add time before the payment arrives.

Are there any additional fees if I transfer funds in a currency other than EUR?

stock.estate account funding and investment amounts are in EUR. Follow the currency and payment instructions shown for your selected funding method.

If you send funds from an account in another currency, conversion rates and charges can affect the amount received. Check with your bank or payment provider how it will handle the transfer before sending it; do not assume that a non-EUR payment will arrive for the expected EUR amount.

Do Romanian investors need to declare interest income from investments through the Unique Declaration (UD)?

For Romanian tax residents, the reporting obligation depends on the source and treatment of the income and on other relevant income received during the year.

Where Romanian income tax on interest is final and correctly withheld at source, that interest generally does not need to be declared again for income tax. Foreign-source interest can have separate reporting obligations, and CASS may be due when the relevant aggregated income reaches the statutory thresholds, even where income tax was withheld.

Use the ANAF declaration guidance and check the rules for the relevant tax year to determine the applicable thresholds, forms and filing deadline. Keep your annual payment and withholding records and seek tax advice for your circumstances.

Are platform fees deductible for tax purposes?

The tax treatment of platform fees depends on your tax residence, investor type, income classification and applicable tax regime.

Do not assume that a fee is deductible or that it reduces the withholding-tax base. The amount deducted from a payment and the amount deductible in a tax return are different questions. Use the payment records and applicable tax rules to establish the correct treatment for your circumstances.

Withholding Tax on stock.estate

There is no single withholding rate for every stock.estate investment. Campaigns can use different calculation models, including legacy models, but all remain subject to applicable law.

For campaigns using a treaty schedule, withholding is calculated using the project country, investor tax residence, investor type and applicable schedule. The campaign calculator provides an estimate; payment records show the actual withholding. Applicable inputs can change before a future payment.

Tax-residency certificates may require review, but a missing or unapproved certificate does not block investing. Uploading one does not automatically change every investment’s withholding or guarantee a refund. You may also have reporting or tax obligations in your country of residence.

What fees apply when depositing funds?

The fee for depositing funds into your Stock.estate account depends on the payment method used:

  • Card deposit: 0.5% of the deposited amount + €0.35 per transaction
  • Crypto deposit: 1% of the deposited amount
  • Bank transfer (EUR to EUR): No deposit fee is charged by Stock.estate when funds are transferred in EUR from a EUR-denominated bank account.

Please note that Stock.estate operates exclusively in EUR.

If funds are transferred from an account denominated in another currency, the sending bank or payment provider may apply currency conversion fees when converting the funds into EUR. These fees are charged by the respective bank or provider and are not controlled by Stock.estate.
